Team Reese!

We’re so proud to sponsor and support Reese, our brilliant FoSS mascot, whose dedication to swimming and her community continues to inspire everyone around her. From volunteering with her club and mentoring young swimmers to balancing schoolwork and high-level training, she embodies everything we admire about passion, perseverance, and positivity.
This autumn has been an especially exciting time for Reese, filled with milestones and achievements – including qualifying as a Level 1 Swim Teacher, competing at the South East Winter Regionals, and preparing for the busy competition season ahead.

A Huge Milestone – Level 1 Swim Teacher!

At the end of September, Reese reached an exciting milestone, officially qualifying as a Level 1 Swim Teacher. This achievement marks the culmination of months of dedication – from online learning and written exams to two full practical days teaching swimmers from Levels 2 to 6.

Throughout the process, Reese discovered a genuine passion for teaching and giving back to the sport that has shaped so much of her life. After four months of volunteering with her club, RTW Monson, she is now stepping into an official role as a Swim Teaching Assistant. Once her GCSEs are behind her, Reese plans to progress to Level 2 – showing a mature balance between her studies and her swimming journey.

Congratulations, Reese, on this fantastic achievement!

Giving Back to the Club

Reese continues to be an incredible asset to RTW Monson, both in and out of the pool. Alongside her own training, she regularly supports the coaching team, assisting at events such as the Kent Junior League and taking on leadership roles, including Lead Marshall at the club’s Autumn Blast competition.

The younger swimmers clearly look up to her – her enthusiasm and encouragement are infectious. It’s wonderful to see her growing into not only a talented athlete, but also a role model for the next generation of swimmers.

South East Winter Regionals – A Powerful Performance

Reese’s hard work and dedication were also on display at the South East Winter Regional Championships, one of the toughest meets in the calendar. Qualifying for seven events was an impressive achievement in itself, and she got off to a brilliant start with a personal best in the 200m backstroke.

Although not every race brought a PB, competing strongly after just eight weeks back in full training is a huge accomplishment. Every race adds valuable experience, and Reese continues to approach each challenge with her trademark determination and positive mindset.

Special Shout-Out

A big thank-you to Sam and Derek from BGI Insurance for coming along to cheer her on – and for presenting Reese with an amazing rubber duck signed by Olympic Champion Rebecca Adlington! She was absolutely thrilled – thank you so much for your continued encouragement and support.

What’s Next?

The next few weeks promise to be busy ones, with Arena League Round 2 taking place this weekend and Club Championships running across the final two weekends in November.

Training is now focused on the Kent County Championships, held at the iconic London Aquatics Centre. Reese has already qualified for 12 events, with Club Champs offering the perfect opportunity to chase a few more PBs and strengthen her seeding for the County heats.

We’re incredibly proud of all she’s achieved so far and can’t wait to see what comes next – both in and out of the pool. Keep up the amazing work, Reese!
