SPATA was originally founded in 1961 as the Association of Swimming Pool Contractors, later expanding to form the current trade association in 1971. Today, SPATA continues to evolve with the sector, regularly updating its standards to reflect new developments in swimming and spa pool design, construction and maintenance.
